The Hollow Court: 4 - Mirrorjaw (Power Level 4)
The Hollow Court does not train assassins. They don't need to — they find those who are already halfway there and give them the rest.
Vukašin came to them as a young dark elf with a gift she hadn't named yet. She could hear a voice once and hold it. Not imitate — hold. Produce it exactly, with the same weight and breath and hesitation of the original. She had been using it to survive. The Court saw what it could become.
They made her a Mirrorjaw. The rank exists for those who understand that sound is the first door. She never needed to break in anywhere. She would stand outside a gate and call in the voice of someone expected, and the gate would open. She would sit at a table in a merchant's voice and the merchant's partners would say everything. She would stand in a dark corridor in a mark's mother's voice and say come here, and they would come.
She has not used her own voice in forty years. It is a choice, not a loss — her voice is information, and she gives away nothing for free.
She is semi-visible by preference. The Court's fae run toward spectacle. Vukašin runs toward the wall, the shadow, the unremarkable corner where no one looks twice. She is better at her work than anyone who has held her rank, and the Court knows it, and she finds their company exhausting.
The Lodge suits her better. They ask the right questions and don't need the answers spoken aloud.
