Kyleah

Kyleah arrived in the Circle the way all demons arrive — through a door that was never supposed to be opened.
She was performing at a burlesque hall in a city whose name she has since retired, doing what she does now: wearing someone else's face. The original was surrendered at initiation, part of the NAM-TAR cost. She no longer remembers what she looked like before the horns. The booking was for three nights. She stayed six months, by which point the proprietor had stopped asking her to leave and started bringing her coffee in the mornings.
The Circle found her between a Tuesday and a Wednesday. She was onstage when the invitation arrived. She finished the number, collected her tips, and accepted.
She is not interested in climbing ranks. She is interested in the audience. That is the distinction that has kept her at two, and the distinction that makes the higher ranks slightly nervous when she is in the room.
The moon in her dressing mirror is never the right size. She has stopped remarking on it.
