The Broken Circle: 3 - ULLU (Power Level 7)
Ashrhael, the Naming Wound
Before language had edges, before the first cuneiform wedge was pressed into wet clay, Ashrhael spoke the names of things into being. Not created them. Named them. In the deep waters of the Abzu, where the Broken Circle's eldest rose from silt and silence, naming was the act of binding. To name a thing was to own its ending.
Ashrhael was among the first to understand this. Power level seven. ABZU. A demon whose voice could unravel a mortal's sense of self with a single syllable, whose knowledge of true names gave them authority over fates the Circle spent millennia carefully arranging. They were not a soldier or a seer. They were a librarian of endings, a keeper of the great catalogue of names that must one day be spoken for the last time.
Then they made a mistake that was not a mistake.
They named themselves.
Not the name the Circle gave them. Not the rank-name carved into obsidian. Their own name, spoken aloud in a language that predates Sumerian, in a voice that shook the foundations of the deep water. The Circle considers self-naming an act of severance. To name yourself is to claim ownership of your own ending, to remove yourself from the great design. It is the one heresy the Abzu cannot forgive because it cannot be undone.
Ashrhael walked out of the deep water and into the world above. They did not wander. They did not grieve. They simply arrived at the Lodge as though they had always known where it was, sat down at the bar, and waited. They are still waiting. For what, they have not said.
